What IS Vancouver food?

I was watching this really cool and interesting show on Discovery last night.
It's called "Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations".
It's a show about travel and food, but it's really interesting in that he goes to different cities and tries local food. But the working class local food.
In this episode he went to Baltimore, Detroit and Buffalo.

My question is, what IS Vancouver food? What are we known for that you can only really get here. I want to say sushi because I have never been anywhere else where sushi is such an everyday sort of thing to go and eat.

What are your thoughts? Local Vancouver foods? Working class establishments?

Anyone else seen this show?

Writer's Block: Do you check your stars?

Do you believe in astrology? If so, how often do you check your horoscope and how does it impact your life? If not, do you get annoyed when people make assumptions about you based on your sign?
I actually met a famous astrologist today.
She gave me $20 to go see Star Trek at Imax.
Her name is Georgia Nicols, she writes for The Province and the National Post.

HOT!

My crush on her isn't right!!
But I seriously can't stop staring at her...

Fan Forum isn't working... damn

Summer is over... onto my favorite season!

I am kind of glad summer is basically over, I like fall the best.
The weather is cooler, warm drinks, better sports and of course awesome new Fall TV.

Nothing much going on at the moment. I am job hunting, sort of. I just want something new all together or something to go with the job I already have.
I just think I need something new.

I feel like something good is on the horizon.

Is Alive!!

According to LJ, I havent updated in 22 weeks. This might actually be my first update this year. Or second or something.

Life is interesting lately, I am making a point to actually try new things.
I do still go to a zillion burlesque shows but I don't seem to go to the big ticket ones as much as I used too. Frankly because I cant afford it. Ha.

I have also come to the conclusion that I am never going to find a date a burlesque show. Not that I was really looking for one at those shows, but still. Life isnt all about the boobies... surprisingly enough.

I have been trying to date though. I met this cute girl at Cafe Deux Soliel, totally thought she liked me too and when we went for coffee the first conversation we have is how the guy she likes is being a jerk. Seriously? Seriously?
I went to a Hershe the day before Canada Day and met another cool girl, chickened out of gettinga phone number, found her on Facebook by chance and asked her for coffee. She says yes to coffee but isnt looking to date. That's still cool.

At least I am trying.

In other news I have taken to going to Monday poetry slams, not so much for the poetry as for the performance of the poetry. I think it's cool. I sit at a big table with cool people I know who get up and say cool stuff.
This new thing has sort of grown an offspring, called Thursday Frisbee, around all sorts of parks in Vancouver.

I still work at a movie theater, which is currently showing depressing french movies all summer. They all look depressing, and its actually busy. We the staff, arent sure what to think of this.

I have decided I want a bike.
And I want to learn how to play bass guitar and possibly piano.

And I like that I can walk around this summer.

Life

So life has been signifigantly better than the last time I actually made a post.

I officially have new roommates now. The old ones that were stressing me out are gone. Yay!!!!

The new roommates are Christian who goes to BCIT and is like a lifeguard and instructor dude.
He is super and I never see him. It's kinda funny.
Joseph is the other new roomie and he is originally from the UK but was living in Toronto for a few years, and now he lives here. He is gone for a month going to London and Morocco for the holidays. They are both super chill and laid back.
Berko is getting used to them. He still isn't quite sure what to think of whats going on but even he seems a lot calmer then before.

My job is great, it's really laidback and everyone is pretty fun to work with. Getting into the routine of it is pretty easy.

I am really not sure what to say lately just that everything is great. I do need another job but I am probably going to work that out after Christmas.

I will post more often I swear.

Writer's Block: Infamous

Today is known to some as the Day of Infamy, in commemoration of what happened at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. In your lifetime, what date sticks out as the most memorable in terms of world events?

September 11, 2001.
Is there another possible answer to that question?
